DesignI believe in simple, elegant design that uses photography and graphics to illustrate your message. Whether you choose one of my photographs or you approve a stock photo or illustration, your piece will be eye-catching and informative. SoftwareI use the latest versions of Adobe’s Creative Suite. InDesign is my page layout program of choice on the Macintosh platform. I have experience with cross-platform design teams using both PC and Macintosh versions of the software. Although Microsoft Word is a word processor and not a professional design tool, I have created templates for letterhead and business proposals that are easy-to-use and more importantly easy-to-email. I am well-versed in portable document format (.pdf) and can act as your liason with your printing or duplicating company. BooksThe SpeakEasy Spanish™ series of industry-specific Spanish language training books and CDs is an excellent example of my book cover design. There are more than one dozen products in this series. Each one needs to stand out on its own, but also to indicate by design that it is part of the library of books. Click here to see some of the books in greater detail. CDsNavigating your way through the printing requirements to create a beautiful CD cover and insert at your duplicating company can be daunting. Words like CMYK and “convert to outlines” can be confusing (or meaningless) to the inexperienced. Let me design and prepare your print files for you. I can be your liason with duplicating companies such as Media Evolved here in Charlotte while you retain control as the decision-maker. FlyersWe commonly think of printed material when the word flyer is mentioned, but in this age of digital technology designing a flyer that can be easily emailed to your list of customers is a great advantage; especially in time and cost-savings. Click here to see an example of a flyer that was designed specifically for clients to receive via email. Web sites: Design, Coding & HostingProducing a web site can be a nightmare. The techno-geeks (and I mean the term in the kindest possible way) don’t seem to speak our language. EVERYTHING is outrageously expensive and takes forever to produce. (And just forget about daily changes—most of them don’t even answer their phone!) How about a clean, beautiful web site tailored to a specific brand-identity for a specific event, produced in ten hours or less? Check this one out—www.officialholaday.com—a web site that I designed and coded as a part of an overall branding campaign to positively support the use of the Spanish language in the USA. (It is also a terrific example of creating public awareness and plenty of free advertising for a company without appearing to be self-serving.) Additional websites for you to view: www.petecobb.com is a website designed for a neuromuscular massage therapist. This site was produced from brochures that were re-purposed, edited and updated to create an easy-to-navigate, functional message. |
