Computer Instructor/ReEmployment Services

Since March 2007, I have been teaching courses through a Microsoft Unlimited Potential grant with Mitchell Community College and the Statesville Housing Authority. Computer Skills For Employment and The Internet and The Job Search are evening classes that focus upon teaching computer skills such as touch typing and Microsoft Word to the unemployed and the working poor.

In August 2009, I was hired as the ReEmployment Services instructor for MCC, in an expanded program that is teamed with the Employment Security Commission to assess the computer and life skills required to obtain a job and then provide educational courses to address any skills gaps.

In September 2008, the Iredell-Statesville Technology Institute was picked as one of the twenty Microsoft Unlimited Potential grant programs internationally for having an excellent educational/training program for unemployed and low-income adult students.
